Fursuit head tutorial out of foam! by RiotApple Fursuit head tutorial out of foam! by RiotApple
basic tutorial to make a fursuit head! hope this helps. and yea you may ask questions but I might not know the answers to all, but I try!

And if you don't know how to get more information of how to make fursuits and heads and etc. go check some tutorials on youtube! I have learned all this from youtube xD
And you may also find tutorials here at DA!

:)

and about the supplies, use scissors, foam, one kind of glue that is very hot and keeps the pieces together very well, hot glue, i'm not sure if that is the name for it in english x3 and get the fabrics your using to the head once the foaming is finished. glue the fabrics to the head also by using the hot glue thingy c;

Very nice tutorial! I'm 11 and I'm making my own suit very soon! c:

On step two, It says "After that, You put a piece of foam to the empty spots!" Does that mean the empty spots between the arch of foam ontop of the head and the piece of foam  around the head?

Also, Is there one simple thickness of foam that doesn't include a LOT of trimming? In cm and inches please because the websites I am going to order it from are in inches!

Thanks a lot :3

Heh, well I'd recommend just using 1cm thick fowm because it'd keep it sturdy and steady enough to keep in place and still be somewhat thing but even half a cm could maybe handle the job. Since well, foam heads might get a little bit hot after a while inside an apartment so do take that in consideration.

Tbh XD this tuto is soo so old I should better do it again and give some better tips to go with it haha, these tend to be old as well.

Aand, the trimming depends only on your own handiwork, how you shape the things out. But honestly said, foam heads does make a lot of mess and it's really quite something you can't dodge ;u; well if you're an expert and know your things then it might go faster and with less extra trash to go with but yeah.

I hope you can make the furry head you want and that this helped some! Have a go for it ;3 And good luck

I dunno if you answer on here still, but the seam on step one, did you put it on the front, side or back of the head?

Well, the picture shows it as just an example how to do it, but yeah I'd recommend moving the seam to the back of the head or side. First you can measure it by holding it at the front of your head but one cuting and gluing as a ready piece, turn it around. The hot glue will make it harder so it'd be hard to cut the holes for mouth and so on, it'd be kinda on the way =)

yeah, if it feels good and enough supportive around your head, it's good, and you have to also think how thick your foam is, cuz it might get hot inside it when it's finished, with all the furs and stuff. Mine gets a little bit warm when I have used the head for about 15mins :P and don't make a mouth that is closed, because you have to breath from somewhere xD
